Weather - again!

Sadly it all seems to go pear shaped. The weather is predicted to take a turn for the worse with rain and snow at Lukla forecasted for 5 days from the day we are supposed to fly into Lukla.

Needles to say this is bad news ! Not happy !

 

15 days to go... More training...

Not much to report in the last 3 weeks, more equipment checks and ramping up the training on the exercise bike. Checking the weather and all looks good. Checking real time meteorological data from the "pyramid" a self contained, solar powered! autonomous weather station near Everest base station at 5076 m elevation.

From the data provided by the sun-photometer it seems like the weather is as expected for this time of year, bright, uninterrupted sun for the first half of the day and in the afternoon small clouds briefly interrupt the sunshine.

Still quite cold, night time lows of -8 deg C and daytime highs of +5 deg C.
