We finally made it to Phakding!

After landing in Lukla just after 2pm we had a quick lunch (yummy mixed fried rice) at Khumbu resort and started our trek. We were curious to see the changes in the last 14 years since we last have been here. Now the village became much more commercialised, to cater for all tourists' needs. The lodges became taller and a lot of shops appeared on the "high street", including pubs and coffee shops (Starbucks?).

As we continued our walk, the weather became more and more cloudier, same as last time, which was normal, considering the time of the day.

The trail was slowly descending towards Phakding, but we were always walking either uphill or downhill. We enjoyed the conversations with our new friend, Ratna, our guide. He taught us how to say "Thank you" in Nepali ("Dande Bhat") and we were keen to practice it. (Note: Next morning I needed reminding!)

We stayed at Tibetan Guesthouse in Phakding, were Ratna made the reservations in advance, as we arrived relatively late, at 5:30pm.
